Referral Relationships

Because we only represent injured workers, it is imperative that we have a strong referral network of local attorneys. We absolutely must rely on other attorneys to effectively serve our clients’ needs in other areas of the law. We do not refer to attorneys we’ve never met. We feel this is an abuse of our clients’ trust. Any attorney wishing to join our referral network and who would entertain including The Law Offices of Nicole Hessen, P.A. in their network, should first sit down with us. Whether lunch, dinner or an office visit, we value an opportunity to meet with you and learn more about your practice and how we can best refer work to you. We also want to tell you about our practice and why our approach is a bit different than other attorneys who practice workers’ compensation law.

One major difference is how we pay referral fees. We pay 25% across the board, no exceptions. We pay on all fees not just the settlement. If you understand the difference you know this is an important distinction. If you do not, please ask us to explain. It is very important that you have all the facts when evaluating a referral relationship with any workers’ compensation attorney.

How we work with you is dependent entirely on how you wish to work with us. We believe in real co-counsel relationships. This means, we welcome whatever level of involvement you deem appropriate. Be as involved in the case as you like. Irrespective of how involved you choose to be, we will keep you updated as to any and all developments in the case. You’ll never have to wonder what happened to your client, their case or your fee.
